CLASS REGISTRATION & CANCELLATION PROCEDURES

Online registration is fast and easy! You can register for a class by visiting our website, http://www.quiltworksnw.com, and paying with a credit card via our secure online shopping cart. You can see at a glance if the class you wish to register for has space available, and you can view and print class supply lists right from the website!

If you don’t have access to a computer, you can still call (425.453.6005), or see us in the shop to register in person.  Prepayment is required to reserve your space in class as it supports our decision and commitment to the instructor to be able to hold the class.

If QuiltWorks Northwest must cancel a class due to insufficient enrollment, we will notify you three days prior to the beginning of class and refund your tuition. If you need to cancel or transfer your enrollment in a class, please do so 10 days before class begins to receive a QuiltWorks Northwest gift certificate or credit toward a future class, minus a $5 processing fee. No refund will be given if you cancel less than 10 days ahead. The exception to this general policy is classes taught by visiting Guest Instructors. We are sorry, but no refunds are given for classes by Guest Instructors unless a student from the waiting list is able take your place.

Please be sure to note the parking information below.

How to Register for a FREE Class or Demonstration

One important reminder for those reserving a space in our FREE classes such as Mastering Your Bernina Sewing Machine or Open Classroom - with Help with Sandra Casto and Marilyn Nelson: If you wish to reserve space in a FREE class and you are NOT purchasing other classes that have an associated cost, you must choose the Phone/Fax payment option to complete your order.  In this instance, a phone call to the store is not necessary.  We look forward to seeing you in our store!

Registration Confirmation

Each time you register for class, you AUTOMATICALLY receive an email confirmation of your order as long as you have provided a valid email address with your order.  Please be sure to double-check that you've typed your email address correctly and that QuiltWorks Northwest is on your list of Approved Senders.  Many email service providers block potential spam from recipients' mailboxes - if you do not approve us, your confirmation may end up in the Junk Mail Folder of your email account.

Class etiquette

With exception of classes geared especially toward teaching children, no children or guests are allowed in classes. If special circumstances require an exception to our policy, arrangements must be approved by both the instructor and shop management.

In consideration of the instructor and other students in the classroom, we ask the following of our students:

  • Silence your cell phone during class and leave the room if you must take a call.

  • Limit the strength of application of any perfume, scented body lotion, hairspray or other aromatics when in the shop.

  • Treat our classroom space, tables and tools as you would your own property.  We want to always have it available for your use.

There are two Bernina sewing machines available for your use during classes. If you wish to use a classroom machine, be sure to indicate that at the time of registration using the Sewing Machine Option dropdown before adding the class item to your virtual shopping cart. Show up for class at least 20 minutes early to check out the machine (you will need to leave your driver’s license or car keys at the front desk) and practice using it before class begins.

A note about our skill levels

Our teachers have helped us to attach a skill-needed rating to the each class we offer. Please consider this rating before signing up for a class. If your skill level is not what the class requires, it affects both your, and the other students’, accomplishment and enjoyment of the class. If you are uncertain about your skill level for a particular class, our staff will be happy to assist you.  Our current levels are listed below.

  • Beginner: new to quilting, sewing or beading

  • Confident Beginner: limited experience with terms, tools and techniques, but comfortable in a group learning environment

  • Intermediate: some experience with techniques used in class, minimal guidance or reminders needed that does not distract from highlighted class content or project

  • Advanced: familiar with the techniques used in class, focusing on highlighted class content or project

Free, street level parking in downtown Bellevue is very limited and we are very fortunate to have much of it available for our shop.  In order to provide quick, easy access for those doing a quick shopping trip or who may have a physical need to park closer, Bellevue Plaza has designated 1 Hour Parking stalls.  We encourage our  clients, especially those in classes, to park in stalls that are not designated 1 Hour as the lot is monitoredIf you are here for class, please display a QuiltWorks business card on your dash.  If you are bringing machines or supplies to class, you may ask to use our cart to bring in your belongings.  Thank you for your cooperation and assistance in maximizing every person's shopping experience.
