The Answer is YES!
We HAVE found a new home that's just right for US! It's in Bellevue, with
good parking and lots of space for shoppers, students and of course,
FABRIC. Our new home is just one block east of our current
location at 121A 107th Avenue NE. It will take a couple of months
to get the new home ready for us to move in, so we'll keep you posted as
to our anticipated move date. We expect to be closed for four or
five days toward the end of August, but the date is not set yet so
stayed tuned. We'll send out email to our subscribers and post
info to our homepage when we know the details. If you're not an
email subscriber yet, be sure to click on
the link to the left and sign up to receive email from us. It's
the best way to be in-the-know!

APNQ Quiltfest !!! August 8, 9 & 10 -
Washington State Convention and Trade Center
Since August of 1994, every
two years Seattle is host to the Association of Pacific Northwest
Quilters (APNQ) Quiltfest, a biennial juried and judged
international competition among quiltmakers of Alaska, Alberta, British
Columbia, Idaho, Montana, Northwest Territories, Oregon, Washington and
Yukon. This quilt show takes thousands of man hours and hundreds of
volunteers to showcase more than 300 of the finest quilts from artists
residing in the Pacific Northwest region. We are proud to be both
a sponsor and a participant in the show with booths for QuiltWorks
Northwest and Bernina.
Spend three days viewing
beautiful competition quilts, taking new hands-on workshops and
lectures, and enjoying the Saturday night Gala & Auction. You will
be truly inspired and awed by the depth and diversity of the quilting
talent in the Pacific Northwest and Western Canada. In addition to
enjoying the beautiful competition quilts on display, shop the
spectacular vendor mall, enjoy the other special exhibits including
traveling exhibits, "Spice of Life", "It's a Wrap", and "Living Colour",
plan to stay a night or two downtown enjoying the Emerald City.
Start planning now to make Quiltfest your creative inspiration of Summer
2008. For more information about the show or APNQ in general,
visit the APNQ website.
This is an opportunity that
you won't want to miss, so mark your calendars and we'll see you at the
show!
By the way, this is a new
venue for the show. Be sure to check directions, parking and
transportation information before heading out:
Washington State Convention
and Trade Center.

Hearts &
Hands: Providing Warmth and Comfort for Local Hospitals and Shelters
Update
Posted:
6/26/08
We've been collecting quilts for
Project Linus and they are always appreciated. Whenever you feel you can
spend some time creating a small quilt to donate to Project Linus, keep
us in mind. It is so satisfying to help Project Linus get much
needed warmth and comfort to others in need at local hospitals and
shelters, so please keep those quilts coming and thank you for
your support in helping us help others in need. If you're looking for
opportunities to sew for Linus in the company of friends, our
Open Classrooms are a perfect opportunity for you. For more information about our work with Project Linus, please view our
previous postings. By the way, if you can't stop in the shop, you may purchase a
Linus Kit online to donate to our volunteer sewers.
Other opportunities to help with a gift of warmth for those in need are
available. Click to read about

_______________________________ Our Block of the Month -
BUCK-A-BLOCK by THANGLES®
Buck-a-Block series 4 will start at QWNW
in July; it introduces quilters to an easy way to make half-square
triangles of many sizes and to make a great sampler quilt in the
process. At any time during a given month, a block kit will be available
for $1. Participants must show their completed block in order to receive
the next block kit at the special price. For participants who do not
qualify for the special price, blocks are $3. Although this
fun program begins on July 1st, it's never too late to participate.
Previous months are available for just $3 per block while supplies last;
current and future blocks are just $1 as long as you follow the program
rules. Themes for Series 4 are "Blue, Yellow & White" and "Brights."
Participants can select one or both themes to participants. Limit
one of each theme per participant at the special block price of $1.

PRIVATE LESSON?
Anytime a class piques your
interest, but you just can’t get away to attend on the scheduled days or
times, please inquire with Chardel or Stacie about private instruction.
Many instructors are happy to teach a class one-on-one or for a special
group of your friends. Have a personal mini-retreat for a special
occasion or just because it's fun - we will be glad to coordinate it
for you.
