Quilts from the Heart meets the second Wednesday evening of the month at QuiltWorks Northwest. It is a volunteer organization that has made over 1800 quilts since it began in 1993. They sew quilts for organizations in King, Pierce and Snohomish counties that provide beds for kids and adults at risk. Their motto is no pressure. "You don't have to make a whole quilt, nor run for office or volunteer unless you really want to. We accept your time and energy whenever and however you want to give them." Annual dues of $15 help defray the cost of batting. Just show up, and they will put you to work. Bring a sewing machine if you can; fabric is provided from their large donated fabric collection or you can use your own stash!
