Silkscreening using Thermofax is an easy and creative way to print images and text on fabric. It can open up a new area of creativity for you! Make beautiful labels, create your own printed fabric, develop texture, print multiple images, explore surface design - the creative possibilities are endless. All it takes to get started is a black-and-white photocopy, and with a few simple steps you can print single or multiple images on fabric. You will learn masking techniques, printing with ink and discharging with thickened bleach. Foiling and color mixing techniques will be demonstrated in class. Silkscreening can add a new dimension to your quilts - and it's really fun! Cost of class includes the use of black paint in class. Other paint colors are available for purchase at QuiltWorks Northwest. Foil and glue are available from the teacher for a small fee.
