Instructor: Sherrill Kahn

This three-day workshop includes painting, printmaking, rubber stamping, embellishment, and design techniques leading to a finished collage. You will learn:

1. A variety of painting and rubber stamping techniques that can be used on plain and commercial fabric.

2. Some embellishment techniques from Creative Embellishments (SherrillÆs third book)

3. Design techniques for combining colors and textures to create a beautiful finished piece from painted fabrics and commercial fabrics.

4. Sewing and embroidery techniques to enhance the surface for those that wish to sew some of their collage. SherrillÆs fourth book, Creative Collage, covers a variety of sewn embellishments.

5. Paper collage can be created if the student doesnÆt wish to use fabric or the final collage can include fabric and paper.

The students will be able to work on any surface in class.
