Instructor: Sandy Bonsib Learn to make a quilt from start to finish. You will learn a little quilt history, how to choose fabrics for a quilt, how to use a rotary cutter, and how to take an accurate 1/4 seam. And that's only the first class! In the remaining classes, you will learn 10 different blocks. They will become a lap-sized sampler quilt. The last class focuses on finishing your quilt -- how to put the blocks together to make a quilt top, and additional information on borders, batting (the puffy layer in the middle), backing, quilting, and binding the edge of your quilt. No sewing machine is required in this class. Demonstrations and handouts will be provided in class, and you will have the teacher's phone number to call her if you have questions during the week. Sandy has taught this class for 14 years at In The Beginning Fabrics in Seattle. She is the author of 7 books, with an 8th book due out in 2007. Beginner.
