Welcome to

QuiltWorks Northwest

and

Thank you for stopping by our website! In late 2008 QuiltWorks, a thriving part of the local quilt and sewing community for 14 years purchased the nationally recognized store Beads and Beyond and moved to a new location with 10,000 square feet of space including 3 large classrooms. Both business have long been the "go to" resource in the Pacific Northwest for the highest quality materials, classes and creative inspiration. Having both businesses under one roof is a dream come true!

We offer an extensive selection of books, fabrics, semi-precious gemstones, pearls, patterns, sewing machines, trade beads and so much more!

Taking a class is a great way to learn new techniques and gain from the knowledge of our expert instructors. Class topics range from beginning wirework to advanced fusing techniques to phenomenal seed bead designs. We teach garment construction, home dec and courses designed to help you master your BERNINA sewing and embroidery machines. From basic quilt making techniques to precious metal clay to art and design to children's classes...we have it all!

If you have an interest in a specific class, technique or project that you don't see listed on our current schedule don't hesitate to contact us about setting up a private class. See below for more information.

PRIVATE LESSONS and BIRTHDAY PARTIES!
Anytime a class piques your interest but you just can’t get away to attend on the scheduled days or times, please inquire with Laura Jo about private instruction. Many instructors are happy to teach a class one-on-one or for a special group of your friends.  Have a personal mini-retreat for a special occasion or just because it's fun -  we will be glad to coordinate it for you. Also, consider having your next birthday party (for kids of any age) at QuiltWorks. The instructor fee is per hour and you are welcome to bring your decorations and cake!

Hearts & Hands: Providing Warmth and Comfort for Local Hospitals and Shelters

We've been collecting quilts for Project Linus and they are always appreciated. Whenever you feel you can spend some time creating a small quilt to donate to Project Linus, keep us in mind.  It is so satisfying to help Project Linus get much needed warmth and comfort to others in need at local hospitals and shelters, so please keep those quilts coming and thank you for your support in helping us help others in need.  The King and Pierce County chapter has collected more than 12,000 blankets in the last 4 years.  If you're looking for opportunities to sew for Linus in the company of friends, our free Open Classes are a perfect opportunity for you.  For more information about Project Linus, visit the Project Linus website.  By the way, if you can't stop in the shop, you may purchase a Linus Kit online to donate to our volunteer sewers.

Other opportunities to help with a gift of warmth for those in need are available.  Click to read about New Beginnings, Quilts from the Heart, and Stone Soup.
